LRC Rules and Regulations
1. Access and Usage:
- a. Members will not be allowed to use the LRC in the absence of the Librarian.
- b. Perfect silence should be observed in the library.
- c. Leave your personal belongings, such as bags and notebooks, outside the LRC entrance at your own responsibility.
- d. Students can borrow and return books between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on all working days.
- e. The library will be closed on Sundays and all government holidays.
- f. Drinks and eatables, including water, are not allowed in the LRC premises.
- g. Usage of mobile phones is strictly prohibited.
2. Borrowing and Returning Books:
- a. Books will be issued only upon presentation of the student's Identity Card.
- b. Books should be returned on or before the due date marked on the front page of the issued books.
- c. Books should be physically presented to the library for return and renewal.
- d. If a book is not returned by the due date, the borrower will have to pay an overdue charge: General shelf books Rs.1/- per day.
- e. Absence and illness are not acceptable excuses for exemption from paying overdue charges.
- f. If the due date falls on an institute holiday, the book may be returned on the next working day without any fine.
- g. Reference books, magazines, journals, and dailies cannot be taken out of the library and should not be misplaced.
3. Conduct and Responsibilities:
- a. Writing or underlining in a book or tampering with a book in any manner is strictly prohibited.
- b. Members cannot bring personal books or photocopies inside the LRC for consultation.
- c. The borrower shall be responsible for any loss or damage caused to the library material borrowed.
- d. Borrowers shall be required to replace or pay double the cost of such material, including overdue charges.
